PLL gets lowest bid from Vitol Bahrain for April delivery

As the international market continued its downward journey, state-run Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) has received cheaper bids for two cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for deliveries in April. The PLL on Friday said Vitol Bahrain offered the lowest bids of 1.0522 per cent and 10.88933pc of Brent Crude Price for April 5-6 and April 19-20 delivery windows, respectively. This is the lowest bid PLL has secured from the spot market since Sept 22-23, 2020. The LNG prices had since been on a steady increase. The PLL bid results showed, three companies had bid for April 5-6 cargo with a price range of 11.05pc to 12.18pc of Brent. For the second cargo on April 19-20, the PLL received four bids ranging between 10.8933pc and 12.50pc of Brent. Vitol Bahrain won both bids. Member of Punjab Assembly Shaukat Cheema dies of COVID-19

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz member of Punjab Assembly Shaukat Cheema died on Wednesday after being admitted to a hospital in Lahore. Shaukat Cheema, who was elected on PML-N ticket from Gujranwala, was admitted at Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) after being infected by novel coronavirus. He breathed his last today at the hospital. Scores of lawmakers have been died of coronavirus after being infected by the virus. Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Jamshed-ud-Din Kakakhel lost his life while battling against the novel coronavirus today. He was 65. Court overrules decision to conduct exhumation, autopsy of Aamir Liaquat

A Karachi court on Tuesday overturned a decision to conduct PTI MNA Aamir Liaquat Hussain's post-mortem. District and Sessions Judge (East) Khalid Hussain Shahani overturned the decision of Judicial Magistrate (East) Wazeer Hussain Memon who had ordered Hussain's postmortem on June 18. The ruling came in response to an appeal filed by Dua Aamir — daughter of the late televangelist and PTI MNA — challenging the court's decision to allow exhumation of the body for an autopsy. The petition seeking the autopsy was filed by a citizen of Karachi. It had stated that Hussain's sudden death has raised suspicions among his fans and it is suspected that he was killed over a property dispute. The petitioner requested the court to form a special board for the exhumation and autopsy of Hussain, saying that identifying the cause of his death was necessary.
